Journey in a Week 8/5/24 - 8/8/24
Back by popular demand our annual Journey in a week will be held Aug. 5-8th, 2024 in Foster City. Ambassador GS troop 61534 has planned some fun ways to earn a journey, work on badges and learn some great skills. We hope you can stay the whole day so you don't miss out on anything. We will still be finalizing details but as in the past if a scout is only interested in a 1/2 day they will will either earn the journey or equivalent badges. Half the days will be spent on badgework and half the days will be spent on journey work! We cant wait to spend another exciting week with these amazing scouts! Questions? Email troop61534@gmail.com
Girl Scout Challenge Park Day
Sunday, June 9th from 2-4pm at Gull Park in Foster City, CA
Our Mid-Peninsula Service Unit would like to celebrate our Girl Scout year with a Girl Scout Challenge park day. Test the skills you have been learning throughout the year. We will have timed challenges of Girl Scout trivia, knots, pancake flip, and much more. We will sing songs to get us prepared for camp. What's your favorite camp song? Socialize with other troops, volunteers and youth.
Service Project Collection: Don't forget to bring your 3 items of food for our food drive. The troop with the most items wins a pizza party!!!
Fee: FREE, Service unit will cover the cost of the park rental and fun patch
Register by June 8th
Please keep to the adult-girl ratio to have registered adult chaperones. This is not a drop-off event, members need the adult-girl ratio. Register individually or as a troop. If registering individually we will group you with others.

Mid-Peninsula Youth Recgonition Night 5/19/24 3-4:40pm
Girl Scouts of Northern California Mid-Peninsula Service Unit Presents the 2023-2024 Youth Recognition Event, honoring our youth and their accomplishments! All Mid-Peninsula Girl Scouts and their families are invited to cheer on and recognize our Girl Scout awardees!
Is your troop bridging this year? Bridging troops will have the opportunity to fulfill their bridging requirements before the ceremony. At the end of the youth awards ceremony we will have a bridging ceremony.
When: Sunday, May 19th, 2024 3-4:30pm; Registration due by 5/12.

Mid-Peninsula Bridging 5/19/24 2-4:40pm
Mid-Peninsula Service Unit invites you to participate in our Bridging Event 2024. Let’s bring our troops together to fulfill the bridging requirements. This is a bridging event for Girl Scouts of all age groups and bridging levels!!!
The Bridging Requirements usually involves two parts: Pass It On and Look Ahead. In the first step, girls remember their favorite activities and share their skills with a younger troop. In the second step, they’ll meet with older girls to learn what’s in store for the next program grade level. Each troop will come prepared with an activity or skill they learned to Pass it On and Look Ahead.
Registration is $8 per girl
Register by May 12th

Spring Camporee 5/10 - 5/12/24
YMCA Camp Jones Gulch, Pescadero, CA
Weekend full of Fun, food, crafts, SWAPS, friendship and Adventure!
Remember all adults must have mandated reporter certification, current Girl Scout registration and background checks. All troops must have one First Aider and one person must be camping certified.

Disney Tea Party 4/21/24 3-5pm

Join us to celebrate spring with a Disney Tea Party. Have you missed being at Disneyland? Do you love everything Disney? Come to our tea party as we enjoy a cup of tea and Disney inspired treats. We will play games, have fun activities and prizes. Get dressed up or not. But don't forget your Mickey ears. Please bring your own tea cup as we will be serving hot liquids.

Troop or Family Camping 3/22/24 - 3/24/24
CANCELLED - RAINED OUT - Unfortunately there were no dates before June that we could reschedule. We will try for April 2025.
SU 389 Camp Out - Enjoy camping with your troop or family! Pitch a tent or sleep under the stars with your friends. Go for a hike, cook your own meals, enjoy evening campfires!
Cost: $7 per person, plus parking and buying your own food.
Registration open until March 10.
All troops camping must have one First Aider and one person must be camping certified.
Older Girl Retreat Jan 26-28
Join Girl Scouts Mid Peninsula at our Inaugural Older Girl Retreat January 26-28, 2024 at Girl Scouts Camp Butano Creek For 7-12th Grade Girl Scouts!

Enjoy other troops’ workshops and free time
Enjoy your independence with a weekend of no “momming!”
Brush your teeth…. Or not…. Nap….. or not…..
We will come together Saturday Evening for a game of intrigue. A Murder Mystery game of who-done-it! Complete with costumes and themes!
Registration will be $75 per scout for two nights at Camp Butano Creek. Saturday meals and Sunday Breakfast included! Registration will close Jan 10th. - last chance to register will be at our January Service Unit Meeting!

Discoveree 1/20/24
Discoveree is a one-day learning event for Girl Scout volunteers and leaders that provides a mixture of training, skills, and crafts that will enrich your troop's Girl Scout experience and is put on by volunteers. It is held in winter each year. https://www.discoveree.org
It's a great motivating event, with educational workshops and networking opportunities. Learn fantastic ideas to bring back to your troop.

Service Unit 389 Service Project 12/10
Join Service Unit 389 as we support There with Care by donating and assembling Activity Care Bags for babies and children. There with Care is a local organization that provides a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services during the critical phase of a medical crisis.
These bags help alleviate the boredom experienced during long days in the hospital, long hours during treatment, and provide opportunities for play, creativity, relaxation, and fun during a stressful time.
There With Care of the Bay Area is located in Redwood City and serves families at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco.

Adopt a Country!
Your troop or a group within your troop (no minimum size) can choose the top three countries they would like to adopt. Within 48 hours you will receive a notice of which country your group has been given! This is a chance for your group to learn about a wonderful country and share your knowledge with lots of other Girl Scouts.
Your group will need to fill out the poster board, create a passport stamp/sticker and SWAP. Food from your country and a dance/song/performance are optional. Information on the adopted Country needs to be on the board and your group ready to host a table at the International Day fair.

Troop 61742 will offer an optional workshop to earn the World Thinking Day 2024 Patch. Youth will learn and explore the new theme “Our World, Our Thriving Future: The environment and global poverty" In this year’s activities, we’ll explore the link between poverty and the environment and find out how these problems are even more challenging for girls and women in your community and around the world. Registration for additional workshop: $5 per Girl Scout

For those that are interested in doing a clean-up and giving back, but can't make the scheduled San Mateo one, please join us on Sunday October 8th from 2pm-3:30pm at Ryder Park. Our troop cleaned up that area last year and would like to do it again.

Songs n’ S’mores

Welcome back to Girl Scouts! Let’s start off the year with songs, friendship, s'mores and a Girl Scout potluck. Each troop will each share a song (prepare 1-3) and sign up to bring a potluck dish to share with our sister Girl Scouts. Potluck dishes should serve 12-15 each. Girl Scouts and adults should bring their mess kits and a water bottle.
The service unit will provide s'mores inspired dishes and fun patches for attending.
Bring a friend and new members welcome, free admission.
Free event by the service unit. Register by August 18th.
