This event fills up quickly so discuss it with your troop and put it on your calendar now! You can bunk in a cabin or tent (there is one yurt by request only).

Important Information: please make sure you have collected all your information before registering and have your deposit for each participant ready to go. Troop leaders should register for their troop.


Spring Camporee Fri May 10 after 5pm - Sun May 12 noon, 2024

2024 cost

$225 per Scout and In Ratio Chaperones 

$200 for Saturday only Scouts and in Ratio Chaperones 

$250 for Adult Chaperones over GsNorCal Ratio


$100 deposit due at the time of registration. Balance collected at the April meeting.


Troop leaders should gather the following information and payment before registering your troop. Registration is open to our service unit only until (date TBA). In March it will be open to other service units. Changes to registration (Friday dinner add on) can be made up until April 12th. Your registration is not final until a non refundable $100 deposit has been made for each participant. Registration and capacity is based off of first come first serve.

Activities


Adults-will have hang out areas around the camp, however due to scheduling and timing no adults will be allowed to participate in the activities with the exception of SWAPS, nature walks, canoeing (if you are not taking a spot from another scout); outdoor cooking and crafts will depend on supply. No adults will be able to switch with a scout who chooses not to do the activity. Please remember that camp is for the scouts, archery and rock climbing activities are not available for adult participation.

Camping Life

Tent or Cabin Camping available (your choice). Specific cabins will be assigned at a later date.

Scouts will need to bring their own sleeping gear a suggested packing list will be sent out later.


Food

Your camp fee includes Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast (plus dessert) in a cafeteria setting


All participants are expected to clean up after themselves the “camp” way, in addition each troop will be responsible for additional clean up after a specific meal (sign ups at the April meeting). Practice Leave No Trace, bus your dishes and clean your table and any spilled messes on the floor. Clean your cabin and shared bathroom.

-find out who will be having dinner from 7-8pm on Friday night - $10 add on provided by YMCA


Requirements for leaders

-collect all medical forms and YMCA permission forms (ready by the April 10th meeting)

-collect payment and register your troop (individual GS/parent are welcome to register on their own if they are not coming with a troop)

-figure out if/who will stay in a cabin or tent camp

-any dad’s going, let us know

-verify that all adults attending are background checked and have done the proper training

-send a representative to turn in paperwork, sign up for volunteer positions and get information at the April 10th meeting 6-6:45pm Foster City Community Center (above the Foster City Library). 1000 E. Hillsdale Blvd Foster City 

-secure an adult 1st aider (online)

-secure an adult who is GS-Norcal camp certified (online)


Requirements for all adults

-volunteer for a 2 hour shift (those that work in the medical field/first responders are asked to volunteer with outdoor cooking) this will be done at the April 10th meeting

-be background checked through GSNorCal

-complete the mandated reporter course (3 hour online course)-New CA state law, this course will cover you for all your youth volunteer activities
