S.T.E.A.M. Fest FAQ - Exhibitors
What time do I need to arrive at S.T.E.A.M. Fest if I am an exhibitor?
Please arrive between 9am and 9:15am to give yourself enough time for set-up before the event.
Do I need to be a registered Girl Scout volunteer to participate?
No, though you might decide that you want to become one! Exhibitors who are not registered, background-checked, and trained GS volunteers are allowed to speak with Girl Scouts who have other supervisory adults present (GS volunteers and/or parents). They are not allowed to be alone with Girl Scouts (e.g. in another room).
I have some items that I want to donate to the event for youths to be able to take home with them. Can I do that?
Thank you for your generous offer! Any donations should be logged via the GSNorCal Donation Form.
What should I expect to do at S.T.E.A.M. Fest?
You have choices! You can set up an informational table about your STEAM specialty and plan to answer questions; create an activity (or activities) for Girl Scouts in grades K-12 to do on-site or to take home; give a short demonstration or talk at a particular time during the event; contribute to one of the STEAM zones in other ways (loaning books or materials for Girl Scouts to investigate)...or maybe you have another idea! This is a new event, and we are open to your suggestions. Just keep it K-12 Girl Scout friendly, and run it past the event organizer first to make sure there are no applicable venue or safety restrictions.
