Mid Peninsula Service Unit 389 serves Girl Scout Troops in San Mateo and Foster City, California. The Service Unit acts as a liaison to to the Girl Scouts of Northern California Council. We also organize events providing opportunities for girls to participate in the outdoors, community service, product sales, and other Girl Scout fun and traditions. This website is independently created and maintained by volunteers, and is NOT an official website of Girl Scouts of Northern California, nor of Girl Scouts of the USA.
Honor Troop is a Girl Scout tradition practiced by Councils across the country to recognize troops that have gone above and beyond through the Girl Scout Year. It’s a prestigious award that the youth achieve together, and it ensures that troops are getting a well-rounded Girl Scout experience.
Our volunteer-run Service Unit participates in activities run by the Girl Scouts of Northern California Council and hosts fun events, often including the following:
Outdoors - Camping, Fall Camporee, Spring Camporee.
Traditions - Girls participate in many traditions established by over 100 years of Girl Scouting, learning new skills, making new friends, and taking action to make the world a better place.
Community Service - We offer service projects to give back to the community.
Badges - Girls can learn new skills and earn badges outlined in the Girl Scout program of the Girl Scouts of the USA.
Product Sales - Girls participate in the famous Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product Program learning business skills in the process.
Trips - Troops participate in trips organized by individual troops, Mid Peninsula Service Unit, and Girl Scouts of Northern California Council.
